I'll be running the NYC marathon November 6, 2006, inspired by all the people who have touched our lives.

Joe Flanagan ran the NYC marathon last year in honor of Jaclyn. We watched the marathon with Joe's wife, Jackie, and daughter, Christina, from 68th street and 1st Ave in NYC, right outside the doors of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, where Jaclyn is being treated.

This was such a moving experience. I made the commitment right then to run next year and raise awareness for pediatric brain tumors. The children come out in their wheel chairs with their chemo IV poles to watch the runners go bye, especially Fred's Team members. This gives the children with cancer the opportunity to take their minds off the regular grind of being hospitalized and see how many people want to eradicate this insidious disease. It is an emotional experience, but the feeling you leave with is indescribable. I cannot put into words what it is like to watch the NYC marathon amongst kids with cancer at Sloan. It is one of those things in life that you just have to experience to believe. I invite everyone on Sunday, November 5, 2006 to stop by 68th and 1st and watch, with the children at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the NYC marathon. Your life will be touched forever.
