Halloween Time
Monday, 19 November 2007
Hi Everyone!

It is Halloween and my "Fairy and Pirate" are out on the trick-or-treat hunt! This is the strangest Halloween, not being in a home. The girls are back in the neighborhood and I am at the hotel catching up on "the list" of things to do. Den is visiting our neighbors/angels--the Byrnes--and probably having a beer or two (three?). The chill is in the air, the leaves are quickly changing colors and falling--shedding what no longer needs to be.

We are without a doubt moving back into our home on Saturday. Although there is not much more to complete, we are waiting on a shipment of wood, which doesn't seem to exist, in my opinion. Since we are used to moving a lot in the past, this will be second nature to all of us--not that it is a preference, but, the ability to do without and wait on completion!

This past weekend was busy. Although Jaclyn and I did not attend all the events, the CBTF (Children's Brain Tumor Foundation) had a special function in Central Park--A Pumpkin Lighting to honor all the children who are and have been afflicted with a brain tumor. Den and Taryn participated as the rainy, cold day kept Jaclyn and I close to home. Our brain tumor community has become such a close-knit family. I cannot even describe the magnitude of the relationships that we have made. We support, share information, cry, and laugh together as we travel this unknown path.

I continue to be grateful for all the goodness in our lives. Sometimes I feel that I don't have the stamina to continue with all the necessary daily must dos. However, my reminders--Jaclyn, Taryn, Steven's brother, Nick, who is in my class, Zack, Lauren, Lexie, Lily, Jimmy, Victoria, Brenna, Luca, Kyle, Jonathan--the list does not end. Children who have been diagnosed, siblings, children who have lost their battle--there is not one day that goes by that I don't think of all these children. Prayers, happy times, and trick or treats are wished to all of you!

We love you all and celebrate everyday,
The Murphys
