3rd Annual Banquet & FOJ Wk Raise $75,000+
The 2009 Third-Annual FOJ Banquet and Women's Lacrosse Week were a huge success! The events raised over $75,000 and counting! Many teams raised money during their games and we do not have the final figures from the game, so the numbers could still rise. FOJ sends a huge THANK YOU to all the support and generous cash and in-kind donations from people all over the country. The banquet was held at the Organization of the American States building in Washington, DC on March 7th. It was a beautiful evening with 320 people in attendance. Nine brain tumor families were there, most of whom traveled from far away to celebrate with their close friends. We had families from Texas, Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. The evening's main highlight was the moving speeches given by Kristen Kjellman, Ryan Wellner, Chase Jones, and Danny Lam.  We are deeply grateful for their willingness to speak and their inspiring words about their experiences with FOJ. Thanks to generous donations, there were twenty-three silent auction items offered, which raised $8,400. Thank you to the families, the children, the Northwestern and Georgetown Women's Lacrosse teams, and all of the guests who made this evening so special by your presence.

The FOJ Women's Lacrosse Week was also an enormous success. Thirty-nine teams participated by purchasing FOJ tee-shirts produced by Brine. The shirts were beautifully designed by Caitlin Jackson of Northwestern Lacrosse. The team wore the FOJ long-sleeve shirts for warm-up. Many of the teams are waiting to adopt children, but wanted to show their support by participating in the week. We send a special thank you to all the participating teams for raising awareness about pediatric brain tumors and FOJ. You are helping to make a difference in the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors.

We would like to give a special thank you to Chris Combe Inc, Vito John Germinario, and The Martin Group for their significant and generous donations. They helped make the event possible and insured that the brain tumor families and college teams could attend for free.

We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support, love, and generosity to help the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation continue to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors. Raising $75,000 is a significant accomplishment and more than doubled last year's banquet revenue.  Thank you to anyone who supported the banquet or the FOJ week. We are forever grateful and excited for the next event!
